
Dr Williams is a Specialist Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital. Here he also holds the position of Director of Prevocational Education and Training and is responsible for the professional development of Newcastle’s junior doctors. He spent his years as a junior doctor in Newcastle, with secondments across the wider Hunter New England region. After being admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons vascular surgical training pathway, he spent 5 years travelling Australia and New Zealand gaining leading-edge surgical experience in three major Brisbane hospitals (Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandria Hospital and Prince Charles Heart Hospital), Townsville Hospital, Waikato District Hospital (Hamilton, NZ) and the Gold Coast University Hospital. He is a published author and continues research pursuits with the Vascular Surgical Research Group at the John Hunter.
