Dr Dhan Thiruchelvam

Dr Dhan Thiruchelvam is an experienced subspecialist surgeon in the fields of the Upper Gastrointestinal Tract, Surgical Endoscopy and Obesity Surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He holds sub speciality training and Fellowships in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Obesity Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy and Biliary Surgery which were undertaken in Australia and Europe. He has been one of the pioneers in Robotic Weight Loss Surgery in Australia. He grew up in Maitland and after training in Sydney, Melbourne and Europe has worked for more than a decade at St Vincent's Melbourne. He has returned home to spend more time with his family and is pleased to provide holistic, comprehensive and Multi disciplinary Weight Loss Management programs to the people of the Hunter.
