He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Australian Orthopaedic Association\, and has participated in international sub-speciality fellowship training. A/Prof David Dewar moved to Newcastle in 2004\, after completing his undergraduate medical science degree and postgraduate medical degree from the University of Sydney with honors. A/Prof Dewar is significantly involved in research with multiple international presentations and publications. He has completed a PhD at the University of Newcastle and has presented his work at national and international meetings.
