A First Nations woman\, she is known for her compassionate\, trauma informed and holistic approach. DESCRIPTION:Robot-Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery for the Hip and Knee\n\nJoin HPMI’s intimate in-practice meetings\, open to all health professionals and completely free!\nEnjoy insightful sessions led by expert speakers who generously volunteer their time and knowledge.\nEarn 1 Hour of RACGP & ACRRM Approved Educational Activity\, and if needed\,HPMI can provide a certificate of attendance for other certifying bodies upon request.\nTea/Coffee is provided by our generous sponsor.\n																														 \nDr Stuart Mackenzie\nDr Stuart MacKenzie is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery and trauma surgery.\n \n \nHe has a special interest in difficult and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He also specialises in arthroscopic knee surgery\, including ACL reconstruction\, and orthopaedic trauma surgery.\nDr MacKenzie has undertaken training in orthopaedic surgery in Australia\, the USA\, Canada and England.\nHe undertook his undergraduate medical training at the University of Newcastle Graduating in 2002. He also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honors) degree in 1999. He undertook his internship and resident years in Hunter area Health Service before starting orthopaedic training.\nHe completed the Australian Orthopaedic Association training program in Newcastle and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Ortho) in January 2011.\nAfter completing his qualification as an orthopaedic surgeon Dr MacKenzie travelled overseas undertaking further fellowship training in hip and knee surgery.\nHe spent a year doing a Fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction through the University of Alberta and the Royal Alexandra and Misericordia hospitals in Edmonton Canada.\nFollowing this\, he moved to England and completed the prestigious Exeter Hip Fellowship at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter. The Exeter Hip Unit was one of the pioneers of hip replacement surgery and is widely considered to be one of the leading hip replacement hospitals in the world.\nHe has also spent 6 months working in the USA at the Shriners Hospital in Portland\, Oregon.\nDr MacKenzie continues to attend many meetings and courses keeping up to date with the latest techniques and technologies including Direct anterior hip surgery and robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery.\nDr MacKenzie currently works in both the public and private hospital systems. He holds appointments at the John Hunter Hospital\, King Street Private Hospital\, and Lingard Private Hospital.\nDr MacKenzie is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.\n					coming soonClick here to download regsitration form				 \n\nTBC
