DR RASHI MALESU

Dr. Rashi Malesu completed her medical training at the University of Newcastle. She later completed a Masters of Epidemiology at the University of Sydney to better understand research techniques and public health. Rashi also completed a Masters of Philosophy at the University of Sydney focused on the effects of Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) on skin cancer (in particular, melanoma).

Whilst undergoing her dermatology specialty training she has worked at various hospitals including Royal North Shore, Royal Prince Alfred, St Vincent’s Hospital, and John Hunter. She has published articles in various Dermatology journals and has presented at many national and international Dermatology conferences. She was awarded F&E Bauer Foundation Prize for the best research presentation at the annual conference by the Australasian College of Dermatology. She has also been awarded travel scholarships for international conferences in Taiwan and Vienna In addition to working in private practice she is currently a Visiting Medical Officer in dermatology at the John Hunter Hospital.

Her special interests are in the medical and laser management of acne/acne scarring, rosacea, pigmentary disorders (melasma) and precancerous skin lesions. She also has interest in hyperhidrosis management and cosmetic treatment (injectables and laser rejuvenation). Her expertise is also in the medical and surgical management of skin cancers, particularly melanoma. She tailors her treatment plans to achieve the best outcome for her patients and places her focus on the holistic care of the patient
