Dr Sathya Nookala

Dr Sathya Nookala is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician with extensive experience in the care of the elderly, diseases of ageing and the psychosocial challenges they face.
 
He is the clinical lead for delirium and Ortho-geriatric service at Manning Rural Referral Hospital. He provides clinical and diagnostic services for older people with common “Geriatric Syndromes” including dementia, delirium, depression, falls, frailty, polypharmacy, mobility and continence problems.
His services range from acute inpatient care, Ortho-geriatrics, rehabilitation and falls preventions programs, consultation liaison services, neurocognitive assessments, outpatient clinics, home and residential aged care facility visits.
Together with his team of nurses and Allied Health staff, he is passionate about giving his patients a holistic management plan, advice on future planning and, when required, facilitate a seamless transition to residential aged care facilities.
His areas of special interest include dementia, falls, review of polypharmacy, inpatient rehabilitation and Parkinson’s disease.
Dr Nookala is affiliated with Mayo Private Hospital (Taree), Forster Private Hospital and Manning Rural Refferal Hospital (Taree).
