Dr Simon Palfreeman graduated from the University of Sydney in 1978 and undertook his pathology training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. Since that time, he has been in private pathology practice and has held appointments to both public and private hospitals. Although a generally-trained pathologist, Dr Palfreeman now works predominantly in the areas of histopathology and cytopathology. To further his expertise in cytology, he completed his Fellowship of the International Academy of Cytology (FIAC) in 1992. He is the Regional Director of Newcastle and Port Macquarie Laboratories.
