DR KATHERINE RANKIN

Kate is a clinical and laboratory haematologist. She has been working as a consultant in the haematology department at the Calvary Mater Hospital since 2021 and at Hunter Valley Haematology since 2022. She has an interest in a range of areas including thrombosis, bleeding disorders, transfusion, lymphoma, plasma cell disorders and clinical trials.

She completed her haematology training in Newcastle at the Calvary Mater Hospital as well as in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Repatriation General Hospitals. She also spent time working as a haematology clinical trials fellow at Concord Hospital.She is regularly involved in teaching and supervising doctors in training and medical students. She has additionally given educational talks for general practitioners and nursing groups and is happy to continue this
