To provide education on the safe management of ear wax (cerumen) and recognition of common ear pathology
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the successful completion of this course, the candidate should be able to;
- Recognise the anatomy of the ear
- Recognise common pathology of the ear, external, and middle ear
- Assess the risks and benefits of wax removal and understands the various methods available
- Safely perform an ear irrigation
- Communicate to a patient the details of the procedure and explain the risks involved
- Document the details of any procedure in the patient record comprehensively
