Dr Leila Usher
Dr Leila Usher is a respected Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 14 years of clinical experience in women’s health.
A First Nations woman, she is known for her compassionate, trauma-informed and holistic approach. She combines this with clinical excellence; she is proud to offer specialised comprehensive care for women across all stages of life—from adolescence to menopause and beyond.
Dr Usher completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle, followed by a diverse and comprehensive training program, and was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in early 2023.
She is deeply committed to patient education and empowerment, combining advanced medical techniques with personalised care.
Dr Usher stays at the forefront of her field by regularly attending national and international conferences, and she is a member of SOMANZ, ESHRE, ASUM and the Australian Menopause Society.
Currently practicing at John Hunter Hospital and Newcastle Private Hospital, Dr Usher is dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based care that supports women’s reproductive and overall health.
