DR ZOHEB WILLIAMS
Dr Zo Williams is a Specialist Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon working across Newcastle Private Hospital, Lake Macquarie Private Hospital, and John Hunter Hospital, where he serves as the Director of Vascular Surgery. Since 2022, he has provided specialist vascular care to the Newcastle community, with a focus on contemporary techniques including minimally invasive arterial surgery, minimally invasive venous and endovenous surgery, and vascular access surgery.
Dr Williams manages a broad range of vascular conditions, including but not limited to aortic and other aneurysms, carotid disease, claudication and peripheral arterial disease, popliteal entrapment, thoracic outlet syndrome, varicose veins and other venous disorders. He is committed to patient-centered care and is readily available for advice through his private rooms (Ph: 4086 8790) or via the John Hunter Hospital switchboard (Ph: 4921 3000).
Originally from the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Dr Williams completed his Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2012, graduating with distinction. He furthered his surgical knowledge with a Graduate Diploma in Applied Anatomy by Dissection at the University of New England in 2013. His early medical career was based in Newcastle, with clinical experience spanning the broader Hunter New England region.
Following acceptance into the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ vascular surgery training program, Dr Williams gained extensive experience across leading hospitals in Australia and New Zealand, including the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Prince Charles Heart Hospital, Townsville Hospital, Waikato District Hospital (Hamilton, NZ), and Gold Coast University Hospital. This training refined his expertise in both open vascular procedures and modern, minimally invasive techniques.
Dr Williams is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery. He is also a published author and continues to contribute to vascular surgical research through the Vascular Surgical Research Group at John Hunter Hospital
