Dr Nicole Organ

Dr Nicole Organ is a Vascular and Endovascular surgeon in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area. She is a senior staff specialist at John Hunter with an active interest in improving quality of care and education in vascular surgery and medicine. Dr Nicole Organ is a senior member of the Vascular One Team providing consultation and surgery for vascular conditions and supervising vascular ultrasound services. Dr Organ was the Director of Vascular Surgery at John Hunter Hospital for 5 years and then the Deputy Director of Surgery for 5 years. She is now the stream leader for the Hunter New England wound stream. Dr Organ is passionate about improving medical education and patient care. As well as the teaching of local Newcastle doctors and nurses Dr Organ has furthered this interest by being involved in teaching at national vascular surgery skills and exam preparation courses, working as clinical lead for Hunter New England; Venous Thrombosis prevention programme and Wound stream as well as working as a Board member on the Royal Australasian college of Surgeons Board of Vascular Surgery. Dr Organ is an experienced surgeon and clinician working as a vascular surgeon in Newcastle since 2007. Her interests include the surgical and non surgical management of vascular disease using both open and minimally invasive (endovascular) techniques. Dr Organ has been a full member of the Australian Vascular Audit since its inception in 2009 contributing all her major cases and outcomes for review against Australian standards. Dr Organ collaborates with other specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care. She offers vascular surgery using minimally invasive techniques such as endovascular surgery where appropriate.
