With over 15 years of experience as a Consultant Surgeon, Dr Thiruchelvam has extensive clinical expertise, particularly in Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) and Bariatric surgery. He completed rigorous national training in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as international fellowships in the UK, USA, and Japan—undertaking three highly competitive fellowship programs in Upper GI Surgery. His case volume spans thousands of both primary and revisional weight loss surgeries, along with complex Upper GI procedures. He has managed some of the most challenging cases in quaternary referral centres, bringing a wealth of experience to his field.
