Dr Yvette Etherden, Palliative Care CMO, Manning Palliative Care Inpatient Services
Dr Yvette Etherden grew up near the Kowanyama Community in Cape York, Queensland. She started her career as a rural/remote nurse and worked as a nurse for 24 years before deciding to study medicine. As a doctor, she continued to work in rural areas and commenced her ACRRM training in 2018 to work towards becoming a rural generalist. On this journey, she did her advanced skill training in Anaesthetics at Manning Base Hospital, where she met Dr Arron Veltre, who introduced her to Palliative care and the dedicated team. She has continued to work in Palliative care and is now the Palliative Care CMO at Manning Base Hospital.
