What you will learn
- Diagnose atrial fibrillation and initiate guideline-based assessment and anticoagulation strategies in general practice.
- Develop individualised management plans for AF, including rate versus rhythm control and appropriate referral for catheter ablation.
Speaker
Dr Paolo D’Ambrosio, Cardiac Electrophysiologist
Dr Paolo D’Ambrosio is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist who performs ablations for both simple and complex cardiac arrhythmias (including Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation) and cardiac device implantation (including Conduction System Pacing).
Following medical school and cardiology training, he completed two electrophysiology fellowships at RPA Hospital in Sydney and Royal Melbourne Hospital. He also holds a graduate diploma in cardiac electrophysiology, has presented at both national and international conferences, and has authored many peer-reviewed publications. Currently in the final stages of his PhD, Dr D’Ambrosio’s research focuses on arrhythmias related to endurance exercise.
Outside of work, Dr D’Ambrosio enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. He likes to cycle and run and is a keen (albeit very amateur) surfer.
