LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of this activity, you will be able to
- Implement a triage system in a general practice to mitigate risk in relation to the allocation of patient appointments, that complies with RACGP practice standards.
- Safely and appropriately implement triage skills in general practice, including those relating to telephone calls, procedures in the waiting room and interaction with the general practice team.
- Use triage tools and guidelines to recognise and prioritise patients in the waiting room.
- Document triage interactions, including advice received from other staff members.
