    The Hunter Pain Specialists team will deliver a practical, clinically focused educational webinar exploring the complex interplay between pain, injury, and compensation systems. The session will examine how workplace injuries and claims processes can influence psychological wellbeing and recovery outcomes, highlighting key social and emotional factors that impact patients navigating compensable care pathways.

    Presentations will include a physiotherapy perspective on understanding persistent pain, including modern approaches to assessment, function, and rehabilitation beyond the acute injury model. The webinar will conclude with a multidisciplinary discussion on managing compensable persistent pain, bringing together psychological, medical, and allied health perspectives to support coordinated, patient-centred care and improved return-to-function outcomes.

    This year’s program brings together leading respiratory, sleep, radiology and allied health specialists to provide a practical and contemporary update covering the recognition and management of pulmonary dust diseases in general practice, emerging approaches to sleep apnoea including phenotyping and broader sleep health, multidisciplinary dental treatment options for obstructive sleep apnoea, and best practice in distinguishing asthma from COPD alongside updates in adolescent asthma management. The program also explores the role of weight loss and metabolic health in improving sleep apnoea outcomes, as well as a thoracic radiology update including incidental findings such as lung nodules and adrenal lesions, infection and respiratory disease, and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in imaging.
