The session will build practical skills in conducting focused geriatric assessments in general practice and provide strategies for managing multimorbidity in older patients. Participants will gain clear guidance on when and how to escalate concerns or refer to external services including My Aged Care, ACAT, allied health and geriatricians. The webinar will also enhance knowledge of medication-related risks, deprescribing, best-practice guidelines in geriatric care, cognitive screening and falls prevention, while strengthening communication skills for discussing sensitive issues with older patients and their families. There will be opportunity to explore real-world clinical questions through discussion with a geriatrician.
